Digital Files

With the adverts and logo printed out I stuck the new images over the top of the newspaper.

Production of Newspaper

The brief stated that the practical piece needed to be in a digital format.   Photographing the newspaper in 'character' gave the design a dramatic finish.  I was able to take my concept another step forward and shoot a series of images that would create the suspense needed for the proposal.  Both the subject of the newspaper and the presentation illustrates 'life not being as it seems'.

Image 1

The first image is an introduction to the scene, a hot cup of tea with a newspaper.  The tones are warm and inviting but the soft image obstructs the viewer from reading the paper.  I used a low ISO setting to achieve this blurry depth of field.

The second image invites the viewer to 'look closer'.  The fluffy worn teddy illustrates that the piece is about family and the angle captures the Thatcher name, the subject of the piece.  The warm atmosphere is instantly cooled by the blues in the Conservative brand.

The last photograph in the series concludes the story, a full shot of the piece allows the viewer to digest the meaning of the subject.  The fantastic opportunity to purchase your home for the dream of material successes can have a costly after effect if history repeats itself.  A clear message that buying social housing could cost your children a place to live when they need one.
